Yvan De Baets and Bernard Leboucq are the founders of Belgian brewery Brasserie de la Senne. They combine a passion for craft beer with traditional brewing methods, steering clear of filtering, pasteurisation and additives; sticking to raw materials and high quality ingredients. They specialise in creating bitter beers as the bedrock of their brewing expertise. They started out making the type of beers that they liked to drink but weren’t so readily available, bitter yet light on the alcohol content- with a bigger emphasis on flavour than power. Speed isn’t their priority either, each beer taking a leisurely two months to ferment for maximum quality and enjoyment.
