Co-founders Frankie Fox and Desiree Parker launched The Foraging Fox at the Speciality & Fine Food Fair in September 2014. For Frankie, creating The Foraging Fox was the opportunity to turn what had been a childhood hobby into a business. The name itself was inspired by (and in memory of) her father, Roland Fox, the original ‘Foraging Fox’, a plant and fungi expert. Frankie spent an idyllic childhood outdoors; growing, identifying and foraging plants and fungi with Dad and learning to cook things up with Mum. When Frankie gave up her career in the City to spend more time with her children, she wanted to pass on her knowledge of where food came from. They started by finding and growing things to eat in their own garden and, in the process, exploring ways to preserve their produce. They then came up with the Foraging Fox Beetroot Ketchup, which was 3 years in the making. Having previously worked together more than 10 years ago, Frankie and Desiree realised that, even now, they still both share the same passions and they both recognised the potential to build a business that was dedicated to new ingredients and fresh thinking. Beetroot Ketchup is the first product in their line, and offers a healthier, tastier alternative to the old staple.
