Sometimes you come across a something that makes you forget procedure and before you know it you’re demanding someone’s produce before you’ve even had a chance to send an introductory e-mail. Foxhole was that for us. A small lane, Foxhole Lane, not only lends the distillers their name but leads like a dotted line on a secret map to some beautiful English vineyards. It’s here that the wonderful magic of Foxhole begins. Grapes grown in these vineyards are pressed at Bolney Wine Estate and like a fairy-tale someone else’s leftover trash is a prized treasure. These by-products from the grape pressings are gathered and scurried off by the Foxhole team to distil an unfailingly charming gin with the help of additions of a litany of botanicals: Coriander, Angelica Root, Orris Root, Liquorice Root, Bitter Orange, Fresh Lemon Zest, Grapefruit Zest, Angelica Seed. Even if you are a complete sceptic about the English Wine Industry (Which you’d be wrong to be) Foxhole’s clever spirit is doing its bit to show off the wonders of the Southern English countryside.
