J.J. Whitley was a traditional sort of fellow and son of a Rector who grew up in Vicarages in
Hereford and then in Daresbury where he would play in Walton Hall Gardens, one of the
locations of inspiration for his singularly crafted gin and vodkas.
The Whitley’s remained at home in rural England, cultivating their gardens and searching the
hedgerows for thrilling new flavours indigenous to the countryside around Daresbury – the
birthplace of Lewis Carroll. Their locally produced spirits were the talk of the surrounding
villages and aroused huge interest.
Today these passions for exploring and discovering exciting flavours in the British countryside
are evident in the truly wonderful family of premium gins and vodkas offering drinkers a taste
of the unexpected.
