Ardbeg Barrel Aged Oatmeal Stout by Black Isle Brewing
Ardbeg Barrel Aged Oatmeal Stout by Black Isle Brewing
Description

A barrel-aged Hibernator from Black Isle Brewery, who specialise in organic beer. The beer is aged in a Single-Malt Whisky Cask from the Isle of Islay giving it that distinctive peaty aroma alongside the roasted malts and liquorice notes. Dark chocolate and coffee combine to create a richly tantalising flavour with hints of dried fruit, whispers of the smoky whisky character lingering on the palate. Dark in colour, deep in flavour, it’s a treat for your taste buds. - Learn more about Black Isle Brewing

About the makers

Black Isle Brewing Homegrown in the highlands

Black Isle was started by David Gladwin in 1998. An unemployed beer lover, he set out to make world class beer using barley and hops grown on organic farms as nature intended. The Black Isle is famous for the quality of its malting barley and it was there on the farm called Allangrange. In 1790 Sir Roderick Mackenzie recorded that the land was found to be of “superior quality for the brewer and distiller.” The brewery has bought 125 acres and turned it into a working organic farm growing organic barley to make their delicious beer. Today Black Isle can brew up to 10,000 litres a day and ship all the way to Japan. View the Black Isle Brewing page
