An homage to the 19th-century man who gave Firebrick its name, this bitter beer is substantial – but not overpowering. Pouring a rich shade of browny red, it carries flavours of fruit biscuits and sharp plums that are complimented by the all important bitterness from the malts. A balanced beauty that’s well worth trying. - Learn more about Firebrick Brewery

About the makers

Firebrick Brewery Craft beer, locally brewed

The history of its North East England home – specifically that of the town of Blaydon – provide Firebrick with the inspiration that goes into the beer it brews. They settled on the name as an homage to the 1800’s MP Sir Joseph Cowen, who helped build the Tyne’s brick exporting industry. Back in 2013, the Firebrick clan brewed their first beer. Now they’ve upgraded their first 2.5 barrel brew plant to one five times the size, to provide the good people of the North East (and beyond) with their brews. View the Firebrick Brewery page
