Description

The original Laphroaig is an absolute classic dram, distilled the same way today as when Ian Hunter invented it over 75 years ago. In making Laphroaig, malted barley is dried over a peat fire. The smoke from this peat, found only on Islay, gives Laphroaig its particularly rich flavour. Those enjoying the 10 Year Old will first notice the bold, smoky taste, followed by a hint of seaweed and a surprising sweetness. This full-bodied variant is the foundation of all Laphroaig expressions and comes with a long finish. - Learn more about Laphroaig

About the makers

Laphroaig

Laphroaig is an Islay single malt whisky distillery, it was established in 1815 by The Johnston’s. and remained a family business for over 100 years. Laphroaig calls itself “the most richly flavoured of all Scotch Whiskies”, the whisky is most often aged to 10 years however they also make a 15-year-old whisky and do some special edition whiskies also. They also have a very famous patron whose coat of arms are on their bottles, in 1994 HRH Princes Charles visited the distillery and gave the distillery his Royal Warrant and called their whisky “the finest whisky in the world”.
