One hundred and fifty years ago the new bitter beer style, Pale Ale, was so popular that brewers had to import Californian hops to meet demand. Meantime London Pale Ale continues that tradition by combining lots of American Cascade and Centennial hops to give it a complex citrus aroma and buckets full of local Kentish Goldings to provide the bitterness that makes the style so refreshing. Together they conspire to assail the nose with a complex, heady mix of spearmint, grass and ‘hop sack’ aromas, fruity citrus flavours and a bitter finish that makes pale ale drinking a truly rewarding experience.- Learn more about Meantime Brewing
Meantime was founded in Greenwich, London back in 1999 by Alastair Hook. Not just your average beer lover, Alastair was the first person in the UK to get a Master’s degree in Brewing, and was voted World Brewer of the Year in 2008.
When he set up Meantime Brewing Company with a vision to change the way people think about beer, there were all but two operating breweries left in London. Inspired by London’s longstanding brewing tradition and the technology and innovation of the Modern Craft Beer movement in the US, Alastair started us off on our mission to brew proper beer. We travel the world to source the best ingredients and spend around six weeks brewing each of our beers to make sure the complex flavours have the time they need to fully develop.View the Meantime Brewing page
