About the makers

Thwaites

Thwaites is one of the largest brewing companies in the country and has been operating for over 200 years. Founded by Daniel Thwaites and continued by his brothers after his death in 1843, the company has been based in Blackburn, Lancashire since 1807. The brewery has a long history of making popular and consistently high quality beers at the Star Brewery. Over more than two centuries they have changed and adapted and today are one of the oldest family brewers in the UK, and an iconic local landmark in East Lancashire. They produce an enormous range of beers that are popular throughout Britain and abroad. View the Thwaites page
